Dispatcher / Operations Specialist
Full time - 40 hours
About Us:
Cake Freight is a modern, fully remote logistics company obsessed with precision, partnership, and performance. We move fast, solve problems creatively, and take pride in delivering outstanding service to freight forwarders and shippers across the U.S. We’re growing and looking for a detail-oriented, calm-under-pressure Logistics Coordinator to join our remote ops team.
About the Role:
As a Dispatcher/Operations Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of daily freight execution—tracking shipments, communicating with carriers, updating customers, and making sure operations run smoothly from pickup to delivery. You will also be connecting with carriers to forge relationships, negotiate rates and book shipments. This role requires speed, accuracy, and strong communication skills.
You’ll work directly with our U.S.-based operations and account management teams to ensure freight is moving efficiently and that our customers stay informed and supported.
What You’ll Do
Daily Operations:
Dispatch, monitor and track shipments from pickup to delivery using Turvo (TMS)
Load entry and data maintenance within our TMS and tracking tools
Full ownership of driver tracking compliance through TMS
Send timely updates to clients via email (using pre-set milestones and update templates)
Coordinate with carriers for appointment setting, updates, and problem resolution
Develop relationships with carrier partners to negotiate rates and book loads
Support Account Managers and entire team with various ad-hoc tasks
Customer Communication:
Respond to customer emails and requests professionally and clearly
Proactively alert customers to delays, exceptions, and solutions
Use customer-specific SOPs and cheat sheets to ensure compliance and consistency
Internal Support:
Flag stalled shipments or untouched loads to the Ops team
Escalate urgent issues to leadership quickly and with clarity
Assist in EOD (end-of-day) recaps and operational scorecards
Update and maintain Google Sheets, Slack threads, and CRM/TMS notes
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in dispatching, track/trace, or operations is required
Strong written and verbal English communication
Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
Tech-savvy: able to learn tools like Turvo, Google Sheets, Slack, and Canva
Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
Reliable internet and a quiet work environment during U.S. PST hours
Takes initiative and ownership without needing daily hand-holding
Why Join Cake Freight?
We’re a remote-first team driven by clarity, integrity, and ownership. At Cake Freight, you’ll be empowered to solve problems, contribute ideas, and grow your skill set in a fast-moving and supportive environment. This is your chance to join a high-performing U.S. logistics team from the comfort of your home in the Philippines.
