Remote Residential Construction Estimator – North American Projects

About the Role

BCF Contracting Group is a high-end residential construction company based in Toronto, Canada. We’re seeking a highly experienced Estimator to support our team remotely. You will be responsible for preparing accurate take-offs and cost estimates for residential renovations, additions, and new builds, with a focus on Canadian and North American construction standards.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience estimating for residential construction (Canada/US experience preferred)
- Proven track record using PlanSwift, Buildertrend Clear Estimates, and Excel for quantity takeoffs
- Strong understanding of North American construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, scopes, and specs
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-managed
- Should possess knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.


Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates from architectural plans
• Maintain and use BCF’s internal pricing models and supplier data
• Communicate with project managers and designers for clarifications
• Track changes, update estimates, and assist in project budgeting
• Submit estimates in standard templates provided by BCF

Tools We Use
• PlanSwift
• Clear Estimates 
• Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
• Buildertrend (training provided)

Working Hours
• Flexible, but must have some overlap with Toronto business hours
• Ability to commit to 2–4 estimates per week initially

Compensation
• Competitive based on experience (TBD)
• Bonuses based on accuracy and speed
