Position Summary
Our US based client's Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, engineering and operating the company's IT infrastructure. They are responsible for daily infrastructure administration (storage, network, firewalls,
VMWare, IT / security applications) and act as an escalation point for our client's Systems Administrators.
This individual needs to understand the complex interactions of technical systems (networks, storage,
virtualization, security) and have strong troubleshooting skills. They will be responsible for engineering
highly available technical solutions that support mission critical platforms. They will engage other team
members and support vendors as needed in order to resolve all technical issues in a timely manner. This
individual will occasionally work after hours as needed, in order to support staff, perform updates, work
internal issues, etc.

Our client are looking for an eager, motivated individual to join the team and fill a Systems Engineer role.
Ideally, this individual possesses a strong desire to learn and grow. As IT, they are responsible for
maintaining the infrastructure upon which most our client's services are built. As such, the efficient
planning and operation of the infrastructure is critical to the success of the business. The Systems
Engineers are responsible for the entirety of the our client's infrastructure, from the physical hardware to
the applications that monitor it. They are looking for someone who has advanced IT skills and experience,
who can immediately contribute to the team. However, given the scope of the role, this position
provides ample opportunity for growth and ownership.
Job Responsibilities
Tier 2 support (cover for Admins and take escalations)
Firewall Administration ‐ tunnels, SSL VPN, policies, troubleshooting, etc.
Network Administration (switches, ISP, routers)
vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, etc) administration
Backup and Replication – administration and testing (Veeam)
Storage administration (Nimble, Pure Storage)
Duo Administration ‐ SSO, Applications, MFA etc.
Infrastructure Monitoring (Nagios, etc)
Palo Alto XDR Administration and Configuration
Email flow and email security (Mimecast, Exchange Online)
DR / Secondary site administration (all infrastructure / applications)
IR responsibilities as needed
Collaborate with other teams for support, troubleshooting, etc.
Vulnerability scanning (Nessus)
Vulnerability remediation and tracking
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
8‐10 years of IT experience (Helpdesk, Admin, Engineer, etc)
1‐3 years of IT Engineering experience
5‐7 years of infrastructure experience (networking, storage, virtualization)
1‐3 years VMWare experience
1‐3 years of security experience
SSL VPN Config and Troubleshooting
Active Directory / Hybrid Azure AD
Enterprise networking models
Highly Available infrastructure setup and troubleshooting
Proficient with Windows and Linux
Other Skill Requirements
Must be able to work independently and track time on projects using ClickUp
Must be able to communicate complex technical issues to IT staff and non‐technical coworkers
Must be able to plan and manage small to medium projects
Must posses excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to contribute to collaborative problem
solving
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline (Preferred)
Relevant Professional Certifications (Preferred)
