About My Fifo Life

We're launching an innovative app for Australia's FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) mining workforce, helping workers manage their unique work schedules, credentials, and wellness needs. Our PWA is already built and functional on Replit - we need an experienced developer to take it to the iOS App Store.

The Project

What We Have: A fully functional Progressive Web App (PWA) built with modern web technologies, deployed on Replit with:

• User authentication & profiles
• Interactive roster/calendar management with sharing
• Document upload and credential storage
• Wellness resources and mental health support
• Responsive design optimized for mobile

What We Need: Convert our existing PWA to a native iOS app ready for App Store submission.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Tasks:

• Convert existing PWA to native iOS app using Capacitor or similar framework
• Configure iOS-specific features (app icons, splash screens, permissions)
• Set up iOS build pipeline and development certificates
• Prepare App Store submission materials (metadata, screenshots, descriptions)
• Test app functionality on iOS devices and simulators
• Submit to Apple App Store and handle review process

Technical Requirements:

• Maintain existing functionality while optimizing for native performance
• Ensure touch-friendly UI components work correctly on iOS
• Implement proper offline functionality and data caching
• Configure push notifications infrastructure (if needed)
• Handle iOS-specific security requirements and permissions

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

• 5+ years iOS development experience with proven App Store submissions
• Strong experience with Capacitor or Ionic for web-to-native conversion
• React/JavaScript proficiency to work with existing codebase
• iOS development tools: Xcode, Apple Developer Program, provisioning profiles
• App Store submission process including metadata, assets, and review guidelines
• Mobile UI/UX optimization for touch interfaces

Highly Preferred:

• Experience converting PWAs to native mobile apps
• Knowledge of Progressive Web App technologies (service workers, manifest files)
• Experience with Replit development environment
• Understanding of Australian app market and compliance requirements
• Previous work with workforce management or scheduling applications

Bonus Skills:

• Android development (for future expansion)
• Backend API integration experience
• Experience with calendar/scheduling applications
• Knowledge of mining industry or FIFO work patterns

Project Details

Timeline: 3-4 weeks from start to App Store submission Work Type: Contract/Freelance Location: Remote (Australian timezone preferred)

Deliverables:

1. Native iOS app with full PWA functionality
2. Configured Xcode project with proper certificates
3. All required App Store assets (icons, screenshots, metadata)
4. Successfully submitted app to Apple App Store
5. Documentation for future updates and maintenance

About You

You're a seasoned iOS developer who has successfully launched multiple apps to the App Store. You understand the nuances of converting web applications to native mobile experiences while maintaining performance and user experience. You're detail-oriented with App Store guidelines and can navigate the submission process smoothly.

Ideal Candidate:

• Has converted at least 3 PWAs to native iOS apps
• Strong portfolio of App Store apps
• Can work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills for project updates
• Available to start immediately
